PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contamination control type endoscope which can prevent a ghost and a flare by securing an appropriate distance for a region in which illumination light emitted from an illumination window advances by repeating reflection within a transparent cover until the light reaches an observation window. SOLUTION: The observation window 1 and the illumination window 2 are surrounded respectively by opaque frames 6 and 7. An end face part 6a surrounding the surface of the observation window and an end face part 7a surrounding the surface of the illumination window of the respective frames 6 and 7 are arranged in the state of respectively projecting from the distal end 11c of an insertion part 11. At least the peripheries of the parts of a cover 21 covering the observation window 1 and the illumination window 2 are formed of elastic members, and the parts are brought into elastic close contact with the end face part 6a surrounding the surface of the observation window and the end face part 7a surrounding the surface of the illumination window of the respective frames 6 and 7.
