<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid receiver capable of reducing pressure fluctuation of a refrigerant flowing from an evaporator to a compressor as well as working as an reservoir for a refrigerant, thus, dispensing with an individual intake gas muffler. <P>SOLUTION: This multifunctional liquid receiver (10) can reduce pressure fluctuation of a refrigerant flowing from the evaporator (18) to the compressor (14) in an air conditioning system (12). The liquid receiver (10) is provided with a main body housing (40) provided with an intake port (28) for receiving the refrigerant from the condenser (16) and a discharge port (30) for sending out the refrigerant to the compressor (14). A cap housing (42) covers the main body housing (40).
