<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sheet for thermal transfer recording which has high opacifying properties and high antistatic properties, has a high rigidity and capable of forming a clear image. <P>SOLUTION: The sheet for recording is prepared by laminating a porous layer for forming an image by thermal transferring on at least one face of a base material comprising a base material layer composed of a transparent resin and a metal layer laminated on at least one face of the base material layer. The sheet for recording may be composed of the base material layer, the metal layer formed on one face of the base material layer, and a protective layer formed on the metal layer. In addition, the protective layer may be composed of a transparent resin, and furthermore, a white layer or an optical reflective light-colored layer may be formed on the protective layer. The mean pore diameter of the porous layer is approximately 0.1-20 μm, and the void volume thereof is approximately 20-85%.
