PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scooter type vehicle allowing a water pump to be installed with easy maintenance and without expanding the width of a power unit. SOLUTION: A swing type power unit 102 provided with an engine 103 and a transmission case 48 extended backward from the engine, transmitting driving force to a rear wheel 50 at the back of the transmission case is swingably supported in the body frame and resiliently supported in the body frame by a rear shock absorber. In a water cooled engine, the transmission case housing a transmission 81 is disposed on one side of a vehicle travel direction axis 54, and a cylinder head 106, an engine intake system 119 and an engine exhaust system 94 are disposed on the other side of the vehicle travel direction axis. A cylinder 108 is disposed in a direction perpendicular to the vehicle travel direction axis and almost horizontally, and the water pump is arranged on a cylinder-head side against the crankshaft 58 parallel to the vehicle travel direction.
