摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly and steplessly change the rotation speed of an output shaft from a high rotation range to a low rotation range while suppressing a transmission loss of a driving torque. SOLUTION: This friction type transmission is so constituted as to transmit the driving torque of an input shaft 1 to the output shaft 9 by a frictional force and steplessly change the rotation speed of the output shaft 9. This transmission is provided with a first energizing means energizing the outer circumferential surface of a drive ring 2 in the direction of pressure contacting with a driven part 14 of a conical roller 3 according to the driving torque transmitted from the input shaft 1 to the drive ring 2, a second energizing means 33 energizing the internal circumferential surface of a track ring 6 in the direction of pressure contacting with the head part 15 of the conical roller 3 according to the driving torque applied from the conical roller 3 to the track ring 6, and a third energizing means 28 displacing the conical roller 3 in its axial direction according to the driving torque applied from the conical roller 3 to a transmission ring 5 and energizing the outer circumferential surface of a truncated cone part 13 in the direction of pressure contacting with the internal circumferential surface of the transmission ring 5.
