摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide high-throughput molding equipment for manufacturing a glass substrate best suited for magnetic discs, which requires short heating and cooling periods. <P>SOLUTION: In the molding equipment, a glass material 70 is placed between a pair of upper and lower metal molds 11 and 12 facing each other, heated and pressurized to be molded. Here, the equipment is equipped with an inner tube 28 surrounding the pair of upper and lower metal molds 11 and 12, an outer tube 27 surrounding the inner tube 28 leaving a gap between them and an induction coil 26 coiled around the outer pipe 27 for induction heating of the metal molds. On either or both inner and outer walls of the inner tube 28, a reflective layer that reflects infrared rays is formed to efficiently heat the metal molds to an elevated temperature while blocking conductive heat from the metal molds to prevent overheating of the induction coil to a temperature above allowable temperature. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p>
