PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus capable of easily adjusting a loading position for a CCD. SOLUTION: When the operation is set to a plot mode, image data of an analog signal is outputted from a CCD 41, and the analog signal is converted to a digital signal in an A/D conversion section. Brightness of the image data corresponding to one line in a main scanning direction is represented graphically, and is displayed on a display in real time. As a result, the CCD 41 can be adjusted to a regular mounting position by adjusting adjusting screws 410 to 430 using a jig such as a driver or directly with a hand while observing the display.
