PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a symbol display device for a game machine which displays different contents by one display body and enriches variation of games and further has highly visual appealing. SOLUTION: A game for dividend determination is carried out in a position 14 for displaying a dividend when a subgame is won in a display device 11 for a symbol image. The number of dividend coins to be imparted to a game player is determined in the game for dividend determination. After the number of the dividend tokens is determined, the game player chooses whether or not to play a double up game. When the game player chooses to play the double up game, a reel 22 is shifted to a position for displaying odds from a position for displaying the dividend, and the double up game is carried out in the position 14 for displaying the dividend.
