PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing rod having a grip body with improved durability at the rear end part of an obliquely inserted rod body. SOLUTION: The fishing rod having the grip body 14 formed out of a flexible member and attached to the position just after a reel-attaching body 12 has a level-different part having a small diameter part 14K at the front end part of the grip body 14. The small diameter part is assembled by inserting the small diameter part into a hole part 12KH having a shape corresponding to the small diameter part, and formed at the rear end part of the reel-attaching body. The rod body 10 at the grip body at the small diameter part is inserted into the position deviated to the reverse direction of a reel-carrying side 12R of the reel-attaching body in the diameter direction. The center axis L1 of the rod body approaches the reel-carrying side according to the approach to the rear end of the grip body compared to the position at the small diameter part. The center axis is constituted so as to be positioned at the nearly center position of the upper and lower length of outer periphery of the grip body in the face orthogonal to the center axis at the rear end of the rod body.
