PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio receiver capable of detecting even a low level of burst noises effectively. SOLUTION: This receiver has a noise amplifier 9 which amplifies signals received by an antenna 1 and a noise detecting device 10 which outputs a noise detected signal when an output signal of the noise amplifier 9 becomes larger than an arbitrary value. Responding to the noise detected signal, a switch 6 is interrupted. As a result, a major component of a burst noise can be detected without influencing the band characteristics of an RF amplifier 2, detectability of burst noises improves, and a high noise suppressing effect can be produced.
