PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a structure, to reduce the number of parts and to decrease man-hours for assembly and adjustment work. SOLUTION: The projector has an imaging optical system provided with a projection lens 7 and a photosynthesis prism 6 and has at least one liquid crystal panels 1a to 1c which are arranged in the subject position of the imaging optical system, holding members 9 by which the liquid crystal panels 1a to 1c are fixed, frames 8 which are interposed between the holding members 9 and the photosynthesis prism 6 and spacer members 5 which are interposed between the frames 8 and the photosynthesis prism 6 and are used to adjust the positions of the liquid crystal panels 1a to 1c. The liquid crystal panels 1a to 1c are fixed to the photosynthesis prism 6 by means of the holding members 9, the frames 8 and the spacer members 5. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
