PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waterproof case whose size can be made compact and whose cost can be reduced and in which a rear cover can easily be opened to a camera main body with a small force even in the case where the rear cover becomes hard to be opened when the internal pressure is down. SOLUTION: The waterproof case 1 is provided with a waterproof case main body 3 covering a camera main body 2, a rear cover 4 which opens and closes the back of the waterproof main body 3 and an opening and shutting mechanism 5 which opens and closes the rear cover 4 to the waterproof main body 3 by opening and closing the side face of the main body 3 which is provided on the rear cover 4. Also, a compulsive release pin 71 is provided at the butting part of the rear cover 4 and the compulsive release pin 71 and a cam part 56 which presses the compulsive release pin 71 is provided in the opening and shutting mechanism 5. Moreover, the mechanism 5 presses the pin 71 to the main body 3 side by opening the pin 71 around the cam part 56 and also opens the rear cover 4 to the main body 3. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
