LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY HAVING HOLOGRAM DIFFUSION PLATE

PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display having a hologram diffusion plate is provided to simplify a process and realize a thin liquid crystal display by using a holographic diffusion plate as an insulating layer having a high aperture structure. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal layer is interposed between a first substrate and a second substrate. A CCF(Cholesteric Liquid Crystal Color Filter) selectively reflects or transmits light of a specific wavelength range. A common electrode is formed on the CCF. An array element layer includes switching devices formed on an inner surface of the second substrate. A holographic diffusion plate(148) is placed under the array element layer, and has holographic patterns on a lower surface. An overcoating layer(150) is placed under the holographic diffusion plate for flattening the holographic patterns. A difference in refractive rate between the overcoating layer and the holographic diffusion plate is more than 0.2. Pixel electrodes(154) are placed under the overcoating layer and are connected with the array element layer.
