PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning tool which can easily and surely remove deposits sticking to the inside surface at the front end of a planar member, such as a developer regulating member, without entailing the cost increase and upsizing of a device body. SOLUTION: A gripper 200A of a cleaning tool body is gripped and a free end 200B is advanced into a doctor gap G between a first developing roller 51 and a doctor blade 57. The cleaning tool 200 is lightly pulled to the direction where the tool is pulled from the doctor gap G in the state of unbending the free end of a touching section 200C to the area facing the inside surface of the front end of the doctor blade 57, by which the touching section 200C is touched on the inside surface on the front end of the doctor blade 57. The cleaning tool body is moved along the doctor gap G in this state and the deposits, such as the paper dust and toner lumps, sticking to the inside surface of the front end are removed to the inside surface at the front end of the doctor blade 57 by the touching section 200C.
