<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus of an electrophotographic system which can prolong lifetime by eliminating the variation in film thickness of a photoreceptor for the duration of its life. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with a means for storing a page counter in exchanging the photoreceptor, a means for calculating the number of used print pages (Np) from the page counter in exchanging the photoreceptor, a means for storing the number of used revolutions (No) of the photoreceptor from the time the photoreceptor is exchanged, and a means for calculating the life number of revolutions of the photoreceptor in accordance with the ratio (Np/No) of the number of the used print pages Np and the number of used revolutions No. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
