PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound capable of emitting visual light and having electrical conductivity, and to provide an optical device, an electronic device, an electroluminescent element, a transistor, a display device, and a display device unit given by using the compound. SOLUTION: This compound has such a structure that two substituted or unsubstituted 2-naphthyl groups are combined with one substituted or unsubstituted 2,6-naphthylene group, or with a divalent group which is formed by connecting two or more substituted or unsubstituted 2,6-naphthylene groups.
