PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide polyolefin composition for cable sheath material wherein the occurrence of gel at manufacturing modified polyolefine and at adhering with the manufactured modified polyolefine is reduced smaller than in the conventional manner where vinyl trialkoxysilane as silane coupling agent is used, and also, constituted of the modified polyolefine having a long storage life. SOLUTION: The modified polyolefine composition for the undersea optical fiber cable sheath and the undersea optical fiber cable using the composition include polyolefine of 100pts.mass, silane coupling agent having one or two alkoxy groups per molecule of 0.001 to 10 pts.mass and radical generator of 0.00002 to 0.5pts.mass.
