LASER DRIVE CONTROL APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser drive control apparatus for processing a high speed burst signal that stably controls an optical output of a laser diode.

SOLUTION: The laser drive control apparatus includes: a high speed peak hold circuit 3 for detecting a monitor output level of a photodetector PD for monitoring light from the laser diode LD; a comparison circuit 4 for comparing a detection output of the high speed peak hold circuit 3 with a reference value; and a voltage control circuit 5 for controlling a current supplied to a laser drive circuit 1 in response to a comparison output from the comparison circuit 4, and also with a timer circuit 6 for measuring a prescribed time T after a lapse of the leading of a burst signal received by the laser drive circuit 1. The voltage control circuit 5 captures the comparison output of the comparison circuit 4 at an elapsed point of time of the prescribed time T as above.
