<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus and an image processing method in which decrease in the number of gradations caused by gradation correcting processing is suppressed, an image maintaining excellent gradations is outputted, costs are reduced and high-speed processing is realized by reducing processing circuits or the like. <P>SOLUTION: A synthetic dither table producing part 25 composes a gradation distortion correction parameter and an aging correction parameter to produce a synthetic gradation correction parameter and composes it with a basic dither table to produce a synthetic dither table. By using the synthetic dither table, a gradation screen processing part 24 performs gradation distortion correcting processing, gradation correcting processing caused by aging fluctuation and screen processing through one time of dither processing to an image transferred from a controller part 1. Thus, decrease in the number of gradations caused by a plurality of stages of gradation correcting processing is suppressed and the image which maintains the gradations is outputted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
