PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zinc dithiophosphate which is used as a lubricant or as an additive for lubricant compositions, has improved wear resistance, and may selectively be combined with any other additive to sufficiently exhibit the performance. SOLUTION: This zinc dithiophosphate used as the lubricant or as the additive for the lubricant compositions is characterized in that the total content of cadmium and lead is≤2,000 wt. ppm based on the content of the zinc. Thus, excellent wear resistance is obtained. When a friction-reducing agent is further contained, a large friction-reducing effect is obtained without inhibiting the effect of the friction-reducing agent. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
