PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL element display device which has an active matrix type of bottom-emission structure that is reliable and highly practicable, and in which luminous efficiency is increased and power consumption is decreased by improving light taking-out efficiency, and an apparatus mounting the organic EL element display device. SOLUTION: This active drive type self light-emitting display device is provided with picture elements each comprising an active element, a transparent electrode connected to this, a luminous layer, and a non-translucent opposing electrode on a translucent substrate in a two-dimensional manner.
