PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a part program including data of a transfer route of a measuring probe which is used in CNC type surface shape measuring device, efficiently and at low cost. SOLUTION: An article to be measured 2 is measured in accordance with the part program PP1 stored in a computer 30 by an arm type multi-joint coordinate measuring device 10. A transfer route of a ball probe 1 for measuring the article to be measured 2 with a CNC type three dimensional coordinate measuring device 20 is calculated based on the measuring result. The part program PP2 including the operation results is prepared by the computer 30. The prepared part program PP2 is transmitted to a computer 40 and automatic measurement by the CNC type three dimensional coordinate measuring device 20 is carried out. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
