PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaner for an internal combustion engine wherein a separate outlet hose is eliminated in an air cleaner intake air expansion chamber without lowering in intake filling factor or increasing sound pressure level, the number of part items and the number of man-hours for assembling are reduced, and its manufacturing is facilitated. SOLUTION: An intake air guiding plate integrally molded with a first member and a second member in the intake air expansion chamber is provided, and an intake air flow passage is formed by combining the first member and the second member in the intake air expansion chamber. The intake air is guided to an outlet in the intake air throttle valve side, while keeping the flow speed of the intake air. Consequently, the same air filling factor into the engine cylinder, even if there is no outlet hose, as in case of having an outlet hose can be obtained, and the output of the internal combustion engine is improved.
