<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera capable of surely and quickly changing the composition and changing over a lateral position photographing or longitudinal position photographing even by a user unskillful of handling a tripod and a universal head in photographing by the electronic camera fitted to the tripod with the universal head. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic camera is provided with: an electronic framing function for segmenting image data in a square area at an optional position with an optional size from image data generated by an imaging element; and an electronic longitudinal/lateral image pattern switching function for switching image data with an aspect ratio of the longitudinal position photographing screen or image data with an aspect ratio of the lateral position photographing screen from the image data of the square area and extracting the switched image data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
