PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a trunnion from bending due to reaction force load that a power roller receives from an input/output disk in a toroidal-type continuously variable transmission. SOLUTION: A piston 33 driving a piston rod 31 continuous with the trunnion 27 supporting the power roller 19 is eccentrically arranged for the piston rod 31. Bending moment Fp x m acting on the trunnion 27 by reaction force load Fp acting on the power roller 19 from the input/output disk 15 is set to be m= a so as to cancel by bending moment Fp x a acting on the trunnion 27 by oil pressure load Fp acting on the load center of the piston 33 to prevent the trunnion 27 from bending in order to increase torque transmission capacity of the toroidal-type continuously variable transmission.
