PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive decorative illumination signboard in which display is allowed by uniformly lighting up a display panel at its in-plane by only covering the fluorescent lamp of a generalized existing fluorescent lamp lighting fixture. SOLUTION: The inexpensive decorative illumination signboard has a display section 2 on one wide surface or both wide surfaces, and is provided with an illuminance uniforming means 3 in the interior of a thin box type housing 1 in which one side is opened and serves as the open end 11, and the display panel 21 provided in the display section 2. The fluorescent lamp 51 of the fluorescent lamp lighting fixture 5 is inserted in the open end 11. The illuminance uniforming means 3 consists of a transmitted light adjustment sheet 31 and a light reflection member 32, for example, to approximately uniformly irradiate light from the bar-like fluorescent lamp (a fluorescent tube) 51 at the display section 2. As a result, display is obtained by lighting up a picture on the display panel 2 by covering the fluorescent tube of the existing fluorescent lamp lighting fixture 5 with the open end 11.
