PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a personal authentication system by a biometric method performing user personal authentication to prevent spoofing that is likely taken after the personal authentication is once performed. SOLUTION: This system is the personal authentication system by the biometric method wherein a network server and a client computer are connected through a network, and the client computer performs the user personal authentication to the network server. The network server has a primary personal authentication means for authenticating the user of the client computer, a secondary personal authentication means for continuously performing the personal authentication by the biometric method even after the authentication is performed by the primary personal authentication means, and a personal information storing means for accumulating the personal information of the user. The client computer has a personal information collecting means for collecting user's biological unique information necessary for the biometric method, and a personal information transmitting means for transmitting the personal information collected by the personal information collecting means to the network server when needed.
