PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To hold a stable fixed state even when excess load is generated due to the thermal expansion, shock, or the like of a positioning means. SOLUTION: An optical writing device is provided with: a fixing means including three butting reference surfaces of 1st and 2nd Fθlenses in an optical axis direction, a main scanning direction and a sub-scanning direction; a fixing member 23 for depressing image forming lenses laminated in the three butting reference surface directions so as to adjust depression force components fx, fy, fz; and claw parts 23a, 23b, 23c. A force component generated by depression force and applied to the 1st and 2nd Fθlenses in the direction perpendicular to the butting surface is adjusted to a value sufficiently larger than the resultant force of maximum statistical friction force necessary for moving one Fθlens in the reverse direction of a removed depression force component, when only a depression force component in a direction perpendicular to a butting surface is removed.
