<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance convenience by reliably stopping the rotation of a washing and spin drying tub when it has to be stopped, regardless of an operation state such as drying, washing to rotate the washing and spin drying tub in a water storage state, or rinsing, in a washing machine where a motor is driven by an inverter circuit. <P>SOLUTION: The inverter circuit 4 converts the DC power of a rectifying circuit 3 connected to an AC power source 1 into AC power, so as to drive the motor 5 for driving the washing and spin drying tub, and a stirring blade. A rotor position detecting means 6 detects the rotation of the motor 5, a signal from the detecting means 6 is inputted to a control means 10, and the inverter circuit 4 is controlled. When the motor is braked, the control means 10 stops the rotation of the washing and spin drying tub through the use of a first braking means in the case of spin-drying, and a second braking means in the case of washing to rotate the washing and spin drying tub in the state where water is stored in the outer tub, or rinsing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
