A method of setting a piercing member in a piercing device, comprising the step of rotating a piercing member (2) joined to a cap (29) covering a needle (21) relative to the cap (29) by utilizing a rotating means (C) when or after the piercing member (2) is held on the holder (5) of a piercing device (A), whereby the needle (21) can be easily exposed by rupturing a boundary portion (28) between the cap (29) and the piercing member (2).
