PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic blackboard, in which a message can be readily transmitted to a participant of conference from the outside of a conference room, without disturbing the progress of conference, and to provide an electronic blackboard system equipped with the electronic blackboard. SOLUTION: The electronic blackboard comprises a display board (display section) 61, an operating section 41, and a speaker 63. Before a conference is held, each participant registers oneself by inputting participant information, i.e. a staff number, to the operating section 41 and sits down. When a message is to be transmitted to a participant during conference from the outside of the conference room, the message is inputted to an LAN terminal and transmitted, and then that message is displayed on the display board 61.
