PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for supervising a device among separate devices connected to communicate on a network. SOLUTION: The method includes an process for accessing a device, a process for receiving information from the accessed device, a process for extracting parameter values describing the operation status of the device by performing syntax analysis on the received information, and a process for retrieving operation status information corresponding to the extracted parameter values from a database. The database stores operation status information in the separate devices.
