[Class 97 (i).] A system of reflecting signals to indicate at night to the driver of a vehicle the lateral limits of the road comprises a number of elements fixed to the kerb and provided with reflecting surfaces to render them visible to the driver when illuminated by the lights of the vehicle. The element shown in Fig. 1 comprises a transparent glass &c. member 1 having a cavity 2 which is silvered to form the reflecting surface. The element is recessed into a kerbstone 4 in which it is held by cement 5. In Fig. 3 the reflector 10 is a separate member mounted on a support 11 beneath the transparent cover 1. The reflectors may be attached to the side of the kerbstone instead of the upper surface.</p> |
