PURPOSE: A method for operating an aircraft engine and an ice accumulation preventing system are provided to secure high reliability for easily preventing ice accumulation along an exposed surface without the loss of engine performance. CONSTITUTION: A method for operating an aircraft engine to facilitate preventing ice accumulation on the aircraft engine comprises steps for coupling a membrane(66) to the engine adjacent to an outer surface(68) of the engine; coupling a fluid reservoir(62) to the aircraft engine in flow communication with the membrane; and supplying fluid from the fluid reservoir to the membrane to facilitate preventing ice accumulation on the outer surface of the aircraft engine.
