PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic record medium that has low magnetic exchange coupling force in the inward direction of a recording layer, reduces transition noise, and can reproduce information with high S/N, and to provide a manufacturing method of the magnetic record medium. SOLUTION: The magnetic record medium has a seed layer, including at least one of Pd and Pt as the ground of the recording layer and Si and N. The seed layer can optimally control the magnetic exchange coupling force among the crystal orientation properties of the alternate exchange laminated film and crystal grains, when the recording layer comprises an alternate laminated film of a platinum group element and Co.
