<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved novel solid ink stick. <P>SOLUTION: The ink stick for use in the solid ink supply system of a phase variation ink jet printer has a fitting element formed in the ink stick body, and an adjacent ink stick body can be fitted thereto. The ink stick body is provided on one end face thereof with a protruding fitting element and, on the opposite end face thereof, with a recessed fitting element having complementary shape and position. When two ink sticks having such fitting elements are arranged contiguously in the supply groove of the solid ink supply system, the protruding fitting element of one ink stick is fitted to the recessed fitting element of the adjacent ink stick. Since shift of the ink sticks is reduced, distortion of the stick is reduced in the supply groove. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
