PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electronic equipment which can more easily be operated without affecting operability in respective functions. SOLUTION: When multifunction equipment is used as an electronic still camera of a finder system, a lid part 33 where an LCD 13a is arranged is closed and the right side of a main body is held by the right hand, namely, it is held in the same say as a regular camera. A user confirms an object from a finder 32 and operates a shutter key 31 by the forefinger of the right hand holding the main body. When the equipment is used as a PHS terminal, the lid part 33 where the LCD 13a is arranged is opened, the LCD 13a is set to be visible to a user side and the main body is held by the left hand so that a shorter side comes at the top. The user operates operation keys 34 by the forefinger and the second finger of the left hand holding the main body.
