PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a snap type steering column shroud assembly including an upper shroud and a lower shroud. SOLUTION: The upper shroud 34 has an upper steering shaft communication passage 40 with respect to an upper steering shaft 14. A front edge part 42 moves upper shroud cantilever type snap fasteners 72 and 74 toward a steering column 12 so as to be engaged with the steering column 12. The lower shroud 36 is positioned with the upper shroud 34 by alignment posts 88 and 90 and alignment post receivers 166 and 168, and then the lower shroud 36 is lifted to abut with the steering column 12. Snap connectors 92, 96 and 178 and snap receivers 102 and 106 connect the upper shroud 34 to the lower shroud 36. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
