PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alcoholic sterilization material and alcoholic sterilization agent having good handleability and exhibiting excellent fungicidal sterilization effect over a long period. SOLUTION: The alcoholic sterilization material or an alcoholic sterilization agent is composed of (A) a crosslinked product of a polymer (1) containing a carboxy group and/or a sulfonic acid group in an essential constitution unit (a) wherein the amount of the constitution unit is 20-100 wt.% based on the polymer (1) and 30-100 mol% of the proton of the group is substituted with one or more kinds of onium cations selected from quaternary ammonium cation (I), tertiary phosphonium cation (II), quaternary phosphonium cation (III), tertiary oxonium cation (IV) and alkylpyridinium cation (V) and (B) an alcoholic solvent.
