PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lifting device smooth and safe in lifting performance, transportable as disassembled to a working site efficiently and safely, and assuring high-place work safety by preventing slippage; and to provide a fastener with its safety enhanced by transmitting the bending force, to be produced at the position where a plurality of props are fastened, to the angular parts of the props where strengths are greater. SOLUTION: The lifting device 1 is provided with props 2a, 2b, 2c, each having a stationary section 5 at the lower end and a fall prevention section 4 at the upper end, with a couple of frames 9R, 9L provided around the props and capable of vertical movement, and with a couple of lifts 3R, 3L having leg mounts provided via support sections extending in opposite directions from the frames 9R, 9L. In this lifting device 1, the direction of the lines from the frames 9R, 9L to the support sections coincides approximately with the direction of the line from one end to the other of a belt section to be installed over the leg mounts.
