The invention relates to controlling the equalizer in a mobile communication terminal, advantageously a mobile phone. According to the invention, the communication terminal comprises means for decreasing the frequency selective attenuation by the equalizer when a maximum amplification by the amplifier has already been reached in order to increase the volume of the sound reproduced by the loudspeaker.
