PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stapler constituted so as to remove danger such that a stapling unit and a base part are relatively shifted during use. SOLUTION: The stapler is equipped with a support base part 3 and the stapling unit 2 connected in a freely movable manner by a connector 4. The stapling unit 2 is equipped with a staple magazine 6 housing a staple blank 24 and a drive unit 7 for allowing the stapler 1 to perform stapling work when work for binding workpieces 23 by staples is performed. The support base part 3 is equipped with an anvil surface 10 having the workpieces 23 arranged thereon to collide with the workpieces 23 to perform stapling work. The staples are fixed to the workpieces 23 so that the longitudinal direction T thereof is set along the direction of traversing the longitudinal direction L of the stapler. Therefore, the connector 4 extends only along one longitudinal side 21 of the stapler 1. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
