PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a super high-density storage device whose movement outside a plane of a recording medium is small and which has a small occupying space. SOLUTION: A data storage module 10 includes a rotator 12 having a plurality of storage areas 26, and the storage areas 26 are respectively in one of a plurality of states. First pairs of flexible parts 36a and 36b suspend the rotator 12 inside a first frame 14 to enable the rotator 12 to move in a first direction. To make the rotator 12 movable in the first direction, a first comb-shaped driving mechanism 28a is connected to the rotator 12 and the first frame 14. Second pairs of flexible parts 38a and 38b suspend the first frame 14 within a second frame 15 to enable the first frame 14 to move in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. To make the first frame 14 movable in the second direction, a second comb-shaped driving mechanism 28c is connected to the first frame 14 and the second frame 15. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
