<p>PURPOSE: An apparatus for making a glass tube is provided to form a glass tube having a fine diameter precisely and efficiently at an improved yield and to change the dimension of the glass tube with ease. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for making a glass tube comprises: a feeder(30) connected to the downstream of a glass melting furnace(10) and equipped with stepwise orifices in which the surface areas of the orifices are reduced stepwise downwardly to draw the melted glass(2); a heating means(32) around the feeder(30) for controlling the temperature of the feeder(30) and the viscosity of the melted glass(2); a forming die(40) mounted on the orifices of the feeder(30) and having a mandrel(42) that guides the flow of the melted glass(2) drawn through the orifices in the shape of a tube; an extrusion die(50) disposed in continuous to the forming die(40) and determining the outer diameter of the melted glass(2) passing through the orifices of the feeder(30); and a drawing means(60) for drawing a glass tube(3) passing through the extrusion die(50).</p> |
