<p>The joint element (4), which has a gap (5) positioned alongside, is inserted into the ends of the two hollow profiles (2) to be joined. The profiles (1) are provided with rows of bores(7) for the insertion of tapping screws (13) with a diameter, slightly bigger than the width of the longitudinal gap (5). The gap (5) is spread apart by the insertion of the screws (13), causing the outer surface of the joint element (4) to move towards the inner surface of the hollow profile (2). The resulting tension is defined by the dimensions of the screw (13) in relation to those of the gap (5).</p> |
