CONTROL METHOD FOR PREVENTING INTEGRATOR WIND-UP IN OPERATING VCT AT OR NEAR PHYSICAL STOPS

PURPOSE: A control method for preventing integrator wind-up in operating VCT(Variable Camshaft Timing) at or near physical stops is provided to clear the unnecessary information retained by a VCT system by generating a reset signal with an identifier and resetting a control law and to promptly and accurately determine the phaser position and state by a controller. CONSTITUTION: A method for a VCT feed back control system is composed of steps for providing a set of tooth pulses(62); filtering a set of the tooth pulses(64); identifying a phaser that is not moving(66); determining whether the non-moving phaser is at stop state or steady state(70); learning the physical stop of the phaser; setting a high limit or a low limit when phaser is at stop state(74); resetting a compensator; resetting a PI(Proportional-Integral) controller; and setting e1 as a steady state value if the system is at steady state(72).
