PURPOSE: A locking device of a fan clutch is provided to transmit the rotary power of a disc to a fan without the loss of rotary power in demanding the maximum air flow of the fan by the maximum speed drive of an engine and to obtain maximum capacity increasing efficiency of the fan by mounting a ratchet housing to a split plate of the fan clutch and a ratchet, which locks the disc and a clutch cover and transmits the rotary power of the disc to the fan clutch when a valve moves to the position of a maximum opening angle, to the ratchet housing. CONSTITUTION: A locking device of a fan clutch comprises a ratchet housing(20) installed to a split plate(8); a rotary shaft(21) disposed across the ratchet housing; a ratchet(22) rotatively combined to the rotary shaft; a return spring(25) for returning the ratchet to an original position; and a stopper(26) protruded at the side of a disc(3). The ratchet has a protruded part(24) protruded at a rotation route of a valve at the end and a stopper(23) hung on the stopper of the disc.
