PURPOSE: An apparatus for generating hydrogen gas using electrolysis is provided which maximizes contact area between electrolyte and porous electrodes. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises a main body(1) an upper part of which electrolyte injection port(7) and hydrogen exhaust port(9) are installed, at one side of a lower part of which electrolyte discharge port(11) is installed, and in which a plurality of electrodes(2,2') are installed; transformer(13), diode(12) and frequency oscillator(6) connected to the electrodes(2,2') to supply a power supply and oscillate a cycle; filter(8), collector(10) and pressure controller(5) installed at the hydrogen exhaust port(9) on an upper part of the main body(1) to filter and collect hydrogen exhausted and control exhaustion pressure; a circulation pump(3) installed at one side of the main body(1) to coercively circulate electrolyte inside the main body(1); and a cooling fan(4) for cooling the surface of the main body installed at one side of the main body(1), wherein the electrodes(2,2') are formed of a porous material on the surface of which a plurality of depressed grooves are formed.
