The thermal and acoustic insulation for the boot and bodywork of a car comprises a rigid double envelope made by rotational molding from new or recycled synthetic material. An independent claim is included for a method for thermally and acoustically insulating the boot and bodywork of a car using a synthetic envelope attached to a support frame (11). The envelope is produced by rotational molding using a machine with IR lamp heating or heating cartridges.
