<p>A recording pulse is generated so as to include a top pulse located at the front end and having a first amplitude, a last pulse located at the last end and having the first amplitude, and an intermediate bias portion located between the top pulse and the last pulse and having a second amplitude. According to this recording pulse, a light source is controlled and a laser pulse is applied to a recording medium, so that a recording mark corresponding to a recording signal is formed on the recording medium. In this recording pulse signal generation, when the recording medium is driven to rotate at the second rotation speed, the position of the top pulse is shifted forward than the position of the top pulse when the recording medium is rotated at the first rotation speed. Thus, it is possible to form a recording mark of an appropriate shape even during a high-speed recording.</p> |
